Image Processing Overview
Every image in our dataset was registered against a template brain to bring them into a standard coordinate system resulting in a reformatted image. The reformatted images were then extracted using different binary masks according to which fru+ MARCM clones were present. So each image could potentially result in e.g. 10 different extracted images if it contained 10 completely isolated MARCM clones.
Filenames
Every original image has a unique identifier of the form:
This can be decomposed into
- SlideKey (eg SAEJ)
- BrainNumber (eg 26)
to make SAEJ26 which refers to a single brain. Each image of this brain is then sequentially numbered
- i.e. SAEJ26-1 is the first image for brain SAEJ26.
