1. Turn Chameleon to Standby.
  2. Switch off chiller and disconnect power line.
  3. Disconnect the coolant lines, ensure that they are labelled so that they are re-connected to the same positions.
  4. Dispose of the spent coolant from the chiller tank into the appropriate waste disposal bottle (stored next to the new coolant). IMPORTANT: it contains Ethylen Glycol, therefore it is harmful for the environment.
  5. Re-fill chiller with coolant ~325 ml.
  6. Re-connect the coolant lines to chiller.
  7. Re-connect power line and switch on chiller. Check that the flow is ok.

Perform a “data run” to check the laser performance every time you do a coolant exchange. As parameteres use every 10nm, 10sec. If you get close to 2W internal power it is fine.

  • Turn ON the laser
  • GLATransitionGUI opens the GUI for the laser
  • Wait until the laser is stable
  • The Tune window is the one for laser maintenance, from here you can run the “data run” (intuitive)
  • Run a “sweap” before (this way the data run did not result in an error when trying to stop it)
  • To start the “data run” choose the saving location (C:\coherent) and a file name (standard is : YYYY_MM_DD_datarun_User)
  • A pop up window will appear, just write the engineer name (you can write the other infos if handy or if anything has changed from the previous time) and continue
  • When the “data run” has gone through all wavelengths click “stop” (Roni says it used to stop by itself but it doesn't anymore)

  • Contact @Coherent for purchasing the coolant is Mike Shearer (mike.shearer@coherent.com - tel: 01353 65 88 54)
