I wanted to remove the detector head in order to examine how the objective mount is fixed in place * Turn off the Sutter MP285, PMTs and wide-field/2P servo motor control * Remove the objective! * Undo the connector for the electrical connection to the servo motor that switches the Dichroic from 2P to WF mode. * Remove 4 hex bolts holding the whole detector head and objective assembly to the Z motor (extreme right of our current setup) * Use the larger of the two yellow-taped Allen keys sitting by 2P * make sure you support the detector assembly – it weighs about 750g To remove the objective mount itself * remove the detector (PMT) dichroic assembly by unscrewing the 2 hex bolts on the bottom plate using the smaller allen key * You can now access two similar bolts that screw through to the stainless steel objective mount * To release the objective mount, remove 2 philips head screws that attach it to a black 1 x 3 cm supporting strut * note that these screws are different lengths * when I removed them the longer one was in the middle of the fitting, but I think the reverse makes more sense * Careful you don't destroy any screws (especially the philips head screws) by using the wrong tool or forcing anything * Keep the screws safe * It can be a good idea to screw them back into their holes if you have something disassembled for a while
