So far we have had problems with the laser * on installation (pump laser not producing full power, replacement installed about 1-2 months after arrival) * slow tuning speed - recommendation was laser exercises switching to range of different wavelengths every month FIXME Aaron provide more details We also had (2011-06-01) what appeared to be a problem with the scan mirrors / controllers but was actually a software configuration issue. * there is a system default config file (located at: FIXME) which sets the volts / degree of mirror movement to 1 * but Alex had set up another ini file (located at: FIXME) with sets this to 0.3 * so were effectively overdriving the mirrors by a factor of 3, resulting in instability Testing out the piezo objective positioner loan from PI, we noticed a severe resonance problem (2011-06-03); this was evident in both closed and open loop, but significantly worse in closed loop. Part of the problem appeared to result from having the piezo controller cables running next to the PMT cables. Rotating the piezo controller so that it was sticking out to the left hand side of the objective, rather than underneath the MOM scan head seemed to help. NI boards could not be accessed from PC (2019-05-17) * You will notice this problem in your regular work when you try to run ScanImage and it gives you several error messages about not being able to access piezo motor control and such. * This issue came up twice: once caused by installing the 220A Olfactometer's control software, then later by an automatic Windows update. In the first case uninstalling the 220A Software, reinstalling NI drivers (version 9.3) solved the problem (the 220A software was reinstalled to a different location). In the second case reinstalling the drivers didn't work, but noticed that the NI Device Loader is not started automatically (check at services.msc). The suggested solution can be found here: https://forums.ni.com/t5/Measure/Service-NI-Device-Loader-isn-t-starting-automatically/td-p/551763?profile.language=en ; https://knowledge.ni.com/KnowledgeArticleDetails?id=kA00Z0000019YidSAE&l=en-GB * suggested solution did not solve problem, NI Device Loader Service stopped in both manual and automatic settings (also with "retry after failed starts") * exported config files: https://knowledge.ni.com/KnowledgeArticleDetails?id=kA00Z000000PA7DSAW&l=en-GB * removed potentially corrupt files with this tool: https://forums.ni.com/t5/Example-Program-Drafts/MAX-Database-Corruption-Removal-Tool/ta-p/3521466?profile.language=en This problem couldn't be resolved, updated the PC and the install versions. See 2P1 log - 2019. 09. 09. With new install (Scanimage 5.6): * Scanimage error when PCIe 6323 is not disabled * whenever one changes the Machine Data File the Scanner feedback has to be selected as AI0 and AI1, otherwise error
