====== Image Processing Overview ======
Every **image** in our dataset was registered against a **template brain** to bring them into a standard coordinate system resulting in a **reformatted image**.  The **reformatted images** were then extracted using different **binary masks** according to which fru+ MARCM clones were present.  So each image could potentially result in e.g. 10 different **extracted images** if it contained 10 completely isolated MARCM clones.

====== Filenames ======

Every original image has a unique identifier of the form:

This can be decomposed into 
  * SlideKey (eg SAEJ) 
  * BrainNumber (eg 26) 
to make SAEJ26 which refers to a single brain.  Each image of this brain is then sequentially numbered 
  * i.e. SAEJ26-1 is the first image for brain SAEJ26.
